EndoSphere Inc. Expands Advisory Team


August 18, 2011 – EndoSphere Inc., a medical technology company developing a platform of endoscopically implantable devices for the treatment of metabolic diseases, including obesity and type 2 diabetes, today announced the appointment of two new members to the company’s advisory team. Amol Soin, M.D. of Physician Investment Group LLC and Ohio Pain Clinic, and Stephen R. Haynes of Glengary LLC, were appointed as advisors to the company.

“In addition to leading successful businesses, both Amol and Steve have been involved in the development of very sophisticated medical technology advances,” said James McKinley, EndoSphere’s CEO. “We are extremely excited to benefit from their insights at EndoSphere.”

Stephen Haynes is Managing Partner and a Founder of Cleveland-based investment firm Glengary LLC, where he is responsible for managing the investment decisions and overseeing day-to-day operations. Prior to forming Glengary, Mr. Haynes was General Partner of Key Equity Capital, of KeyCorp Bank, where he provided equity capital to growth companies and leveraged buyouts with equity commitments per transaction of up to $20 million. In addition to serving on the boards of Key Equity Capital portfolio companies, Mr. Haynes served on the Advisory Boards of Kirtland Capital and Healthcare Equity Partners. Previously, Mr. Haynes served as Senior Vice President of McDonald & Company Securities, Inc., where he was involved in all areas of corporate finance including public and private offerings of debt and equity securities, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures. Mr. Haynes currently serves on the boards of Neuros Medical, Cleveland HeartLab and Predictive Service. Mr. Haynes received his B.S. in Accountancy from Miami University.

Amol Soin, M.D. manages Physician Investment Group LLC, which invests in innovative companies in the healthcare industry. Dr. Soin also founded the Ohio Pain Clinic, recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” in Dayton, named by Dayton Business Journal. He serves as a Board Member of Greene Memorial Hospital and the Ohio Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. He is also medicare’s Physician Representative to Pain Management. Dr. Soin is triple board-certified in pain management, a distinction held by less than 1% of practicing pain physicians, and he also holds board certifications in anesthesia. Previously, he served as Chairman of the Illinois State Medical Society Residents and Fellows Section. Dr. Soin received his M.D. from University of Akron Medical School and completed his fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic.
