Thomas N. Tyrrell

Senior Advisory Partner, Co-Founder and Director

Mr. Tyrrell is the Founder and Managing Partner of Collaborx. He is a Founder, Chairman and Senior Advisor of SEGMINT Inc., an early stage software development organization. Mr. Tyrrell is a Senior Advisor, Co-Founder and Director of Glengary LLC, previously serving as Managing Director and Chairman of the Manager. Prior to Glengary, his extensive career in the metals industry (1967-2000) included significant turnaround, M&A and IPO experience. In 1988, he won Inc. Magazine’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award for NEO and, in 1989, was selected a national finalist for the restart and operation of American Steel and Wire.

Since moving to NEO in 1986, Mr. Tyrrell has actively supported both undergraduate and graduate level entrepreneurial programs at midwestern colleges and universities. He is a board member (1990-present) of Elmhurst College, Elmhurst, Illinois and served as Chairman (2002-2007). He is a board member (1989-present) and serves as Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee (1994-present) of Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, Ohio. Mr. Tyrrell is a member of the Foundation Board of Lorain County Community College, and is a board representative to the GLIDE Innovation Fund. He is also engaged with the University of Akron regarding the Innovation Alliance and other entrepreneurial programs. Mr. Tyrrell serves on the NorTech Board of Trustees, chairs the NorTech Technology Leaders Oversight Committee and is a member of the Cuyahoga Valley Initiative – Organizational Design Collaborative, all major NEO economic development efforts.

Mr. Tyrrell received a B.A. in Business Administration from Elmhurst College and an honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Baldwin-Wallace College.
